Scars are formed after a trauma such as a wound or a surgical procedure. The healing process is the healing of the skin through the formation of new connective tissue in the scar.
Scars and Bruises
In the case were produced by the body an excessive amount of scar tissue (connective tissue – collagen and fibroblasts), the scar becomes very thick and clear, with a consequent discomfort to the aesthetic of the person, and can give you itching, redness, and discomfort. In particular in hypertrophic scars and keloids, the collagen and the fibroblasts continue to multiply after the healing of the wound, and this enlarges the volume.
The areas of the body where they appear with greater frequency, keloid scars are the chest and shoulders. Not all subjects develop hypertrophic scars and keloids, but there has to be a genetic predisposition. Hypertrophic scars and keloids are the response of the skin to a trauma of various nature (chemical, physical, surgical, infectious) or, but only in predisposed subjects, of spontaneous origin.
Keloids compared to hypertrophic scars have an increased invasiveness and persistence. The keloid scars can reach a greater volume, are the most invasive and annoying, and tend not to regress easily as compared to hypertrophic, and keloid scars are more difficult to treat. Keloids, unlike hypertrophic scars, may occur after months from the operation and, in particular, at the earlobes, the shoulders and the region close to the sternum.
Care possible, to reduce or blunting consist of treatments of cortisone or laser treatments, or treatments with Ozone. The hematoma forms when a part of the body is struck and muscle fibers and the connective tissue beneath the skin are crushed without the skin tearing. The blood coming from the capillaries in the subcutaneous (the smallest blood vessels in the body) which is poured out beneath the skin, and, not being able to get out, remains trapped, thus causing the appearance of a spot, reddish or purplish sore to the touch (bruise).
Bruising can occur for different reasons, but the most common cases are the consequence of shock, more or less accidental; fortunately, are not permanent and go from a pink color to the initial yellow-green after a couple of weeks in most of the cases, and then disappear along with the any swelling.
